Imperatives Sentence

A. Definition of Imperatives Sentence

imperative sentenceImperative sentences are the sentences that mean ask someone to do something.

B. Function of Imperatives Sentence

Imperative sentences have functions such as command, request,  and directions.

C. Formula of Imperatives Sentence

Positive form:

It is followed by V-I or infinitive for verb,  and is followed by object.

 V-I + O , please!

Using Be after V-I for adjective form.

V-I + be  +  Adjective,  please!


Example:
 (+)
* Close your book, please ! Tolong tutup bukumu!
* Take my pen, please ! Tolong ambil bolpen ku!
* Open your bag, please ! Tolong buka tasmu!
* Check your homework, please ! Tolong cek PR mu!
* Cleaning this class, please ! Tolong bersihkan kelas ini!

Negative form:

Using 'Don't or Do not'  for Verb, and is followed by V-1 or infinitive.

Don't / Do not  + V-I +  O , please!

Using Be after Don't  for adjective form.

Don't / Do not  + be  +  Adjective,  please!


Example:

* Don't forget me ! Jangan lupakan aku!
* Don't touch me ! Jangan sentuh aku!
* Don't be shy ! Jangan malu!
* Don't be angry ! Jangan marah!
* Don't be sad! Jangan menangis !
